What We Do

Court Advocacy

Advocacy

Advocacy in all its forms seeks to ensure that people, particularly those who are most vulnerable in society, are able to have their voice heard on issues that are important to them, defend and safeguard their rights, and have their views and wishes genuinely considered when decisions are being made about their lives.

Child advocacy is a core value of CASA of Baltimore. We focus on the most important needs of children who are involved in complex cases to ensure their stability while in foster care and prepare them for success and the ability to thrive once they age out of the foster care system. Children in foster care often have many placements, moved from one foster home to another. CASA wants to be the one consistent presence in a child's life.

CASA volunteers gather information, monitor the child's case, present facts and recommendations that are in the child’s best interest, provide the court with an objective and comprehensive report of the child and family situation throughout the court process, give individual attention to his/her assigned child that puts the child at an advantage in the overwhelmed court system, and facilitate services to meet the child's needs to provide effective advocacy.

Each year, we serve 125 children and we make it our priority to seek endless ways to give each of them hope.

Our impact this year has changed our community!
