CASA of Baltimore's physical offices are closed due to Baltimore City’s stay-at-home orders. The safety of the children we serve, our volunteers and our staff is very important to us. We have taken careful measures to consider everyone's safety while continuing to fulfill the duties of our mission. We have adjusted our practices and protocols to prioritize safety while still advocating for children in need. As the situation is constantly evolving, we will continue to evaluate our practices and responses.
CASA of Baltimore’s Current Practices:
- In-person child visits are suspended until further notice but are replaced with weekly phone/video visits.
- Advocate Supervisors have increased supervision from monthly to weekly volunteer check-ins to ensure we are aware of the needs of our children and are able to address situations as they may occur.
- CASA staff members are working remotely, but we are using online video conferencing platforms for case supervision, volunteer interviews and training.
- We will be training new volunteers remotely to prepare for an expected increase in cases as stay-at-home orders are lifted.
Note: Please report suspected child abuse or neglect by calling Baltimore City Police or Baltimore City’s Department of Social Service 24-hour hotline: (410)361-2235.
